Storm to bring wettest weather since March to California this week
A slow-moving storm will spin off the California coast this week, sending rounds of rain across the state. Monday through Saturday will probably be the Bay Area’s wettest period since March, while Southern California records its most widespread rainfall since Tropical Storm Hilary in August.
Precipitation timing and amounts are difficult to nail down due to the slow-moving nature of the storm, but at least 1 inch of rain is likely through Saturday between Eureka and Santa Barbara, including San Francisco. Rain showers are possible in Los Angeles and San Diego beginning Wednesday evening, continuing through Saturday.

Two weather systems in the North Pacific Ocean amplified the jet stream over the weekend, combining to push a large low-pressure system toward the California coast. Last week, it was uncertain how close this area of low pressure would get to California, but now it is clearer how the storm will evolve.
